Ornament Care & Safety

Care:

As with all hand-embroidered pieces, our ornaments are delicate and should be treated with care.
To keep them looking beautiful, display them indoors and avoid exposure to the sun.
Keep sharp objects away from the ornaments to avoid damaging the materials.

Storage:

When ornaments are not being displayed, store them in a cool, dry place.
To prevent them from getting dusty and to keep moths and other bugs away (all ornaments are made from 100% wool felt), store them in a sealed plastic bag (such as the one in which they are shipped).
Do not store sharp or heavy objects on top of the ornaments, as they could become damaged and flattened.

Dusting:

If the ornaments become dusty, brush them gently with a soft, clean (unused) paint brush or make-up brush. (I keep a brush set solely for this purpose.) Gently brush the front and sides of the ornaments. A lint roller may be used on the back sides, as that is the only part of the ornament that is not embellished.
A hair dryer, set to the cool setting (on low) may be used to remove any dust from the front (embellished) side of the ornament.
Do not use a vacuum brush or head (even with a cover of pantyhose, etc.) as the suction will be too powerful for the individual embellishments that are stitched by hand. Vacuuming the ornament could cause the embellishments to come loose and damage it.

Cleaning:

Blot spots immediately with a clean dry cloth. Spot clean carefully using a mild, water-free cleaner. Avoid harsh cleaning products, as they could damage or discolor the felt.
Please do not submerge ornaments in water or place in the washing machine or dryer.

Safety:

Ornaments are for decorative purposes only and should be displayed in a safe place away from children and pets.
Ornaments are not toys – please do not let children or animals play with them. Individual embellishments are all stitched by hand. Though they are stitched tightly, they could become loose and pose a choking hazard for small children and pets.
