Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I like to “Think Pink” year-round. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors, and I love all incarnations – from soft blush to bright fuchsia pink. My home is filled with pink accents, and muted pink colors work well with my neutral wardrobe. I love a pop of bright pink here and there, via a vase of fresh tulips or lilies, a statement jewelry piece, or as an accent color on my nails.
Pink is a versatile color to incorporate into your home; it works well in a variety of spaces and applications. Pink can be soft, feminine, and ethereal, while the brighter hues are much more powerful. A bright pink sofa can be the centerpiece in an otherwise muted, neutral room, while a grouping of pillows in soft pink shades and a mixture of patterns on a neutral sofa can create a cozy and inviting space.
For me, the color pink inspires me to be more compassionate and loving and endeavor to make the world a better place, no matter how small a particular action may seem. It also reminds me that there is still so much work to be done to end breast cancer for the millions of women (and men) and their families who are battling this devastating disease. Fortunately, pink also inspires me to remain hopeful that one day breast cancer will be a thing of the past. It is that hope that drives me to use my time and talents to contribute towards finding a cure, bringing awareness, and supporting those living with breast cancer.
What are some ways you “Think Pink” throughout the year?
I’m always surprised how beautifully you incorporate colors, photos and narrative in a blog! Keep up the great work!!!!
Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it.
